Basketball Recap: Gilman Victorious

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gilman had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-40 victory over the Washburn Castle Guards. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since January 23rd.

The victory made it two in a row for Gilman and bumps their season record up to 13-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points on average over those games. As for Washburn, they moved to 16-8 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Gilman nor Washburn have any future games scheduled.
