Basketball Recap: Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill Comes Up Short

Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill and St. David squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill had to settle for second. They lost to the St. David's Warriors on the road by a 35-20 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Warriors are ranked 136th).

Despite the defeat, Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill saw an underclassman step up: freshman Allie McIntosh went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five boards. McIntosh has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Eliza Everett was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted four points along with 15 rebounds and five steals. That's the most boards she has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Driggers, who earned seven points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill and nudges their season record down to 7-14. As for St. David's, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-7.

As of now, neither Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill nor St. David's have any future games scheduled.
