Softball Recap: Gadsden's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Gadsden ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 14-10 victory over the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Abygail Rodriguez, who fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-5. Those home runs were her first of the season. Chantal Ramirez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Rodriguez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Gadsden kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Gadsden's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Santa Teresa, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Coming up, Gadsden will challenge San Elizario at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. San Elizario is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season. Santa Teresa will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ruidoso at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th.
