Galesburg-Augusta came tearing into Tuesday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Kellogg Panthers by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 on Tuesday.

Jaden Fawcett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alex Krugh, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Gibson, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Galesburg-Augusta hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

Galesburg-Augusta pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kellogg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
