Basketball Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

If Leland was feeling good fresh off their 68-44 takedown of Hiawatha last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Leland Panthers were beaten by the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals 96-59 on Monday. The Panthers have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Leland's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leland will head out to face off against Christian Life at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. One thing working in Leland's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they will take on South Beloit at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. Hinckley-Big Rock knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully South Beloit likes a good challenge.
