While Cape Fear's win against Lee County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Colts had just enough and edged out the Yellow Jackets 5-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Eason Turner tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brycen Talley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Cape Fear's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Lee County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Cape Fear wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Culpeper County on the 14th. As for Lee County, they have also already played their next game, a 5-1 victory against Pine Forest on the 14th.
