Basketball Game Preview: Ballard Beavers vs. Rainier Beach Vikings

The Ballard Beavers will square off against the Rainier Beach Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Rainier Beach took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ballard, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Ballard humbled Chief Sealth with a 63-35 victory. The Beavers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Rainier Beach ended up a good deal behind Seattle Academy on Friday and lost 52-36. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Cardinals are ranked 89th).

Ballard is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Rainier Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Ballard strolled past Rainier Beach in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 63-47. Will Ballard repeat their success, or does Rainier Beach have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
