For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Hackett Catholic Prep and Lawton have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish came out on top in a nail-biter against the Blue Devils, sneaking past 3-2. That's two games straight that the Fighting Irish have won by just one run.

Ellie Kling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hackett Catholic Prep's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ally Oldman, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hackett Catholic Prep's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-4. As for Lawton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blue Devils beat Hackett Catholic Prep by a score of 13-1 later that day.
