Baseball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg Takes a Loss

Vinton-Shellsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Solon Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Thursday.

Vinton-Shellsburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Solon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4.

Coming up, Vinton-Shellsburg will challenge Grinnell at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Solon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-1 defeat against Iowa City on the 7th.
