Basketball Recap: Valley's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Valley entered their tilt with Hopi on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 62-56 W against the Hopi Bruins. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-40 two weeks ago.

Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eric Slim out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Slim's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Yazzie, who went 8 for 14 to rack up 17 points and seven boards.

Valley's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points over those games. As for Hopi, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-57 defeat against St. Johns on the 7th. Hopi does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
