Baseball Game Preview: Dilley Wolves vs. Cotulla Cowboys

The Dilley Wolves will head out to face off against the Cotulla Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Dilley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Dilley and Natalia meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Wolves fell 6-3 to the Mustangs.

Dilley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Aguirre, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cotulla came up short against Crystal City on Monday, falling 11-4.

Davyn Deltoro was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Cotulla has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11-1 record this season. As for Dilley, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Cotulla's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Dilley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .447. It's a different story for Cotulla, though, as they've only averaged .324. Will they be able to contain Dilley's hitters?

Dilley suffered a grim 25-10 defeat to Cotulla in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
