Basketball Recap: Deer Park Takes a Loss

Deer Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colville Crimson Hawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stags this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-33 back in December of 2024.

Parker Darnold had an outrageously good game for Colville as he went 9 for 12 en route to 23 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Those eight assists gave Darnold a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jet Bateman, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points.

Deer Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Colville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Deer Park will face off against West Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 220 points over their last three contests. As for Colville, they will challenge Lakeside at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Colville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
