Preview: Amador Buffaloes vs. Argonaut Mustangs
The Amador Buffaloes will head out on the road to face off against the Argonaut Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Amador is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Amador took a serious blow against Sonora, falling 55-6. While losing is never fun, Amador can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 598th, while Sonora is ranked 196th).
Meanwhile, Argonaut was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 26-21 to Calaveras.
The losing side was boosted by Seth Mitchell, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Mitchell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Amador now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Argonaut, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Amador couldn't quite finish off Argonaut when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 2-0. Can Amador avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
