Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Animo Watts

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Animo Watts had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They walked away with a 60-49 victory over the Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology Griffins. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

It was another big night for Johntae Forshae, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 17 points along with eight steals and seven assists. Forshae is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jaydin Smith was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards.

Animo Watts' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points over those games. As for Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.

Coming up, Animo Watts will venture away from home to square off against Stern at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Stern will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Animo Watts surely won't give up without a fight. Alliance Marine-Innovation & Technology does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
