Softball Game Preview: Hancock County Hornets vs. Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers

For the second straight game, Hancock County will face off against Breckinridge County. The Hornets will face off against the Fighting Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hancock County is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Hancock County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Breckinridge County as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Hornets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th (when they won 15-0).

Hancock County got a massive performance out of Audrey Carnes, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Carnes has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Estes, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Hancock County pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Breckinridge County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
