Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodville). They never let Newton get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for Woodville as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kendall Standley made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Standley was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamron Runnels, who went 2-for-4 with five runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Heidi Spurlock also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
