Recap: Putnam County War Eagles vs. Morgan County Bulldogs
The Putnam County War Eagles put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Morgan County 70-55. Given Putnam County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Morgan County is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Bonner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Bonner's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashod Daniel, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Putnam County pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points per game. As for Morgan County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Putnam County has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Laney at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Laney is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Morgan County, they will head out on the road to face off against Oconee County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
