Softball Recap: Ossining Pride vs. Brewster Bears

Ossining had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it 11. They came up short against the Brewster Bears, falling 8-1. The Pride were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bears from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.

As for Brewster, they now have a winning record of 8-7. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15th (when they won 16-8).

For Brewster's part, they gave Sadie Schwartz the start and clearly made the right call: she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cassie Fox relieved her and did a solid job, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emma Mariella, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ava Suida, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Coming up, Ossining will take on Scarsdale at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.53 runs per game on average), something the Pride will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brewster, they will challenge John Jay at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
