Basketball Recap: Taylor Hargrove's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Myers over Cape Coral

Fort Myers was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 45-36 to the Cape Coral Seahawks. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-30 last Thursday.

Fort Myers lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Taylor Hargrove, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Juliya Smith, who scored six points and nine rebounds.

Fort Myers' defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Cape Coral, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Fort Myers has already played their next game (against Aubrey Rogers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cape Coral will be playing in front of their home fans against Bonita Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cape Coral is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
