Volleyball Recap: Cuthbertson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday, Cuthbertson came back down to earth. The Cavaliers came up short against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-11, 25-10.

Jaylynn Carter paced Cuthbertson's offense, picking up nine kills. Carter got some help from Gigi Casseus and her seven assists. Carter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Cuthbertson's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7. As for Marvin Ridge, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Cuthbertson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Piedmont on the 13th. Marvin Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
