Male barely beat Fern Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 12-4 victory on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.
Male got a great performance from Hannah Wright as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Wright has posted since back in May of 2024.
On the hitting side, Male let Aubrey Miller and Mya Green run wild. Miller went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Green went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Male kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Male's record now sits at 14-4. As for Fern Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Male will host Blazer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fern Creek, they will be playing at home against Bethlehem at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles/Banshees' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
