Football Recap: Collins Hill Skates Past Cedar Grove with Ease

After only seven points in their last game, Collins Hill made sure to put some points up on the board against Cedar Grove on Friday. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Saints 45-3. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Saints are ranked 72nd).

Makyree Cross looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 134 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (164.6).

Collins Hill's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB nine times. The heavy lifting was done by Deuce Geralds and Katrell Webb, who racked up six sacks between them. Geralds is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 13 games he's played dating back to last season. Stephen Barjolo got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Collins Hill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Cedar Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Collins Hill will challenge Parkview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Grove, they will take on Alpharetta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
