Softball Recap: Millennium Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Millennium, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on the Estrella Foothills Wolves with a sharp 17-1 victory on Saturday. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Nayelli Banuelos was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Millennium got a massive performance out of Carmen Casillas, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Melly Bethancourt, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Millennium's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Estrella Foothills, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Millennium has already played their next contest, a 25-5 defeat against Chandler on the 1st. As for Estrella Foothills, they will be playing at home against Eastmark at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Estrella Foothills has given up an average of 17.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
