Volleyball Recap: Nokomis Warriors vs. Hampden Broncos
Nokomis extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 3-0 to the Hampden Broncos. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Nokomis' offense was headlined by Sayde Edkins and Ashlyn Bowie, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Rayonna White and her three assists. Kelsey Irish controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Hampden, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-4 Cony and 1-7 Nokomis.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hampden to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniella Madore, who had 16 assists and two aces. Madore is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lilianne Montgomery-Rice, who had four aces.
Nokomis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cony on the 30th. Hampden has also already played their next match (against Brewer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
