Basketball Recap: Bishop Kelly Comes Up Short

If Bishop Kelly was feeling good fresh off their 58-29 takedown of Emmett last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bishop Kelly Knights were dealt a 57-30 loss at the hands of the Middleton Vikings on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost nine in a row.

Middleton was led to victory by Aysha Fried and Zoey Blackwell. Fried dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 boards, while Blackwell posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Blackwell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Dawn Holman was another key player, putting up eight points.

Bishop Kelly's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Middleton, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-1.

Looking ahead, Bishop Kelly will take on Varsity Opponent on February 20th. Middleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
