Softball Recap: East Lincoln Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

East Lincoln had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Hibriten Panthers get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.

Lyla Haywood and Taniyah Thomas did most of the damage at the plate: Haywood went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Thomas went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Thomas has posted since back in March.

East Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

East Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Hibriten, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

Coming up, East Lincoln will face off against Enka on Tuesday. The Jets will roll in looking for their 23rd straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. Hibriten does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
