Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Evelyn Brown and Addie Pickett Lead Concordia Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Roseville, Concordia Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Rockford Rockets as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Beacons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Concordia Academy was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-13, 25-11.

Concordia Academy was led to victory by Addie Pickett and Evelyn Brown. Pickett had 12 digs and two aces, while Brown had five digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Pickett a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Concordia Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockford only served one ace.

Rockford's loss came despite strong showings from Anna Feyen and Sofie Westgaard. Feyen had 12 digs, while Westgaard had 13 digs and two assists. Feyen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Concordia Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rockford, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Concordia Academy will take on Legacy Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Rockford has already played their next game (against Litchfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
