Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield lost against McDonald on April 7th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Springfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gina Romeo, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Springfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for McDonald, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Springfield will square off against Poland Seminary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for McDonald, they will face off against Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
