Dynamic duo of Ziah Pesqueira and Noble Cole lead Moffat to victory

The Moffat Cowboys waltzed into their game Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Weldon Valley 68-46. Given Moffat's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Weldon Valley is ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Moffat to victory were Ziah Pesqueira and Noble Cole. Pesqueira scored 14 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Cole dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Cole scored 15 or more points. Tulasi McBride was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Moffat's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Weldon Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moffat is on the road again on Friday and play against Antonito at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Antonito comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Weldon Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Caliche at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
