Volleyball Recap: Dracut Takes a Loss

Dracut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Methuen Rangers. The Middies were not able to make up for their loss to the Rangers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

While Dracut was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Methuen's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-16, 25-19.

Micah Owowoh paced Dracut's offense, picking up eight kills. Owowoh got some help from Alexander Sophuok and his 13 assists.

Dracut's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Methuen, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dracut is set to challenge their familiar foe Lawrence at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Methuen will face off against rival Billerica Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
