Holy Names Academy and Garfield are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2017, but likely not for long. Holy Names Academy will challenge Garfield at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Holy Names Academy has given up an average of 10  runs per game this season, but Monday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Seattle Prep hit Holy Names Academy with a 11-run seventh inning  last Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Holy Names Academy came up short against  Seattle Prep, falling  17-3. Holy Names Academy has struggled against Seattle Prep recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

  Lee Smedstad made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last six games she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Maria Coussens, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Meanwhile, Garfield made easy work of Lincoln  on Thursday and carried off  a  12-4 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by eight  runs or more this season.
The team  relied heavily on  Joie Cunningham, who  went 4-for-5 with two  triples, three  runs,  and one  stolen base. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Kaitlyn Washington, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run and two  runs.
 Garfield was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .457. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted a  batting average of  .269.
 Holy Names Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Garfield, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season.
Monday's   game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holy Names Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .366. However, it's not like Garfield struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .459. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Holy Names Academy suffered a grim  12-2 defeat to Garfield  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024. Can Holy Names Academy avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
