West Carteret fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Croatan on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 2-1. The result was nothing new for West Carteret as the team haven't won a game since October 2nd.

Their goal came courtesy of Kyle Pinckard, who's now up to 16 this season.

West Carteret's loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Croatan, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-12-2 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Carteret is set to challenge their familiar foe Swansboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Croatan will face off against rival Havelock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
