Elk Rapids had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over the Cheboygan Chiefs. The Elks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by eight runs or more this season.

Rhielynn Skrocki was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Haleigh Yocom was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Elk Rapids lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted in their last 12 contests.

Elk Rapids pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cheboygan, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Elk Rapids beat the Chiefs by a score of 12-4 later that day.
