Niles North faced Maine West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

The win didn't come easy: Maine West scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19.

Andrew Selig paced Niles North's offense, picking up seven kills. Selig got some help from Horia Beca and his 18 assists.

Niles North is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. As for Maine West, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 25-5.

Looking ahead, Niles North will venture away from home to take on Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maine West, they will welcome Vernon Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
