Basketball Recap: Pendleton Heights' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Pendleton Heights had won eight straight games and Kaycie Warfel did her part to make it nine on Thursday. The Pendleton Heights Arabians enjoyed a cozy 52-37 victory over the Connersville Spartans thanks in part to Warfel, who went 9 for 13 en route to 26 points and five steals. Her evening made it 31 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Adah Hupfer, who posted seven points and eight rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Connersville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kendyl Bottomley had 15 points and seven rebounds. Bottomley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ahniyah Bennett, who scored seven points and three steals.

Pendleton Heights has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Connersville, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

Pendleton Heights will host Shelbyville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pendleton Heights is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season. Connersville has already played their next matchup, a 44-31 win against Rushville on the 25th.
