Marvin Ridge is 7-0-1 against Porter Ridge since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Marvin Ridge's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Porter Ridge's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Marvin Ridge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Weddington, who was ranked eighth at the time (Marvin Ridge was ranked third). Neither the Mavericks nor the Warriors could gain the upper hand last Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Marvin Ridge's defeat signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Their goal came courtesy of Jessica Mattson, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Porter Ridge fell victim to Sun Valley and their airtight defense last Thursday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 1-0. Porter Ridge haven't had much luck with Sun Valley recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Porter Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 8-7-4. Marvin Ridge's draw gives them a new season record of 8-1-6.

Marvin Ridge beat Porter Ridge 2-0 in their previous meeting on April 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
