Basketball Recap: Temple City Takes a Loss

Temple City lost against South Pasadena back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Temple City Rams were outmatched by the South Pasadena Tigers and fell 78-33. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 724th, while the Tigers are ranked 179th).

When it comes to explaining why Temple City lost, don't look at Mason Collins. Despite the final result, he posted six points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks.

South Pasadena's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Madison led the charge by going 8 for 9 on his way to 16 points and eight boards. Madison's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Arias, who had 11 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Temple City and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for South Pasadena, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Temple City is taking a road trip to square off against San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Pasadena, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the South Pasadena Tigers duke it out with the Monrovia Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Pasadena is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.7 points per game this season.
