Preview: Trinity Prep Lions vs. Horizon Christian Academy Warriors
The Trinity Prep Lions will face off against the Horizon Christian Academy Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Trinity Prep had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Firebirds as they made off with a 38-17 victory. That looming 38-17 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Trinity Prep yet this season.
Trinity Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Meghan Cochran out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Zamor, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Horizon Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak last Tuesday. They fell to Dawson County 52-47.
Horizon Christian Academy's defeat came about despite a quality game from Nyla Black, who scored 43 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Black has scored all season.
Trinity Prep's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Horizon Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-5.
Trinity Prep was taken down by Horizon Christian Academy 63-36 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Trinity Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
