Dixie took a 36-point defeat the last time they faced off against Tri-County North, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Greyhounds narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 41-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Greyhounds have posted since November 25, 2024.

Tri-County North lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bella Cherry, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and three steals. That was a full 35.9% of Tri-County North's points, marking the fifth time in a row Cherry has scored more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lola Grieshop, who put up seven points and 14 rebounds.

Dixie's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Tri-County North, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.
