Soccer Game Preview: Seminole vs. New Smyrna Beach

The Seminole Seminoles will challenge the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seminole's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Monday, Seminole narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bishop Moore 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Seminoles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Hornets are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, New Smyrna Beach's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They and Spruce Creek finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

New Smyrna Beach's draw makes their record 12-1-5 this season. As for Seminole, they now have a winning record of 7-6-3.
