Baseball Recap: Tonopah Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Mountain View Christian last Friday, Tonopah came back down to earth. The Muckers fell just short of the Lone Pine Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Muckers of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Mitchell Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brekken Miller, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Tonopah's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3. As for Lone Pine, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Tonopah will welcome Beaver Dam at 10:00 a.m. on the 12th. As for Lone Pine, they will head out to square off against Mojave at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
