Bloomington South is 9-1 against Martinsville since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bloomington South Panthers will square off against the Martinsville Artesians at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bloomington South has four straight victories, Martinsville has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Bloomington South is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Bloomington North 70-49. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Cougars are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Martinsville played a tough matchup last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 64-41 to Northview. The Artesians were down 58-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Bloomington South will have to contain Grady Gardner as he made an impact in Martinsville's last game. He shot 47% from the field en route to 18 points. Gardner's big performance that evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Zhane Capshaw was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Bloomington South's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Martinsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.
