Softball Recap: Ocoee Has No Trouble Against Olympia

Ocoee hadn't done well against Olympia recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Ocoee blew past Olympia 11-0. Considering the Knights have won four games by more than ten runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jadore Thompson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Thompson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Shyanne Marble was incredible, firing off two home runs, five stolen bases, and four runs while going 5-for-5. Those home runs were her first of the season. Kylie Holden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Ocoee lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Ocoee back to even at 5-5. As for Olympia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ocoee will head out to square off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ocoee's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cypress Creek has averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Olympia, they will head out on the road to challenge Lake Highland Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Olympia is facing Lake Highland Prep at the right time seeing as Lake Highland Prep is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
