Softball Recap: Syracuse Triumphs

Syracuse's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Millard Eagles.

Syracuse let Paizlee Prathan and Olivia Brown run wild. Prathan went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple, while Brown went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Brown a new career-high. Oaklee Derrickson was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Syracuse kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Syracuse's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Millard, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Syracuse will face off against Clearfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Millard, they will square off against Olympus at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
