Elk Mound has gone a perfect 10-0 against Spring Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mounders will venture away from home to challenge the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. Spring Valley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Elk Mound, who comes in off a win.

Elk Mound can't be too worried about heading out to take on Spring Valley: they just beat Boyceville at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Mounders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mounders.

Meanwhile, Spring Valley fell victim to Durand-Arkansaw and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 15-0 to the Panthers. The Cardinals just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Elk Mound's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Spring Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Elk Mound took their victory against Spring Valley in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mounders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
