Basketball Game Preview: Girard Indians vs. Garfield G-Men

The Girard Indians are taking a road trip to take on the Garfield G-Men at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Girard is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against West Branch, falling 54-34. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Garfield on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Windham out of the water with a 76-46 final score. The G-Men have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 23 points or more this season.

Girard better focus on containing Preston Gedeon and Aidan Hill as the pair were huge in Garfield's win. Gedeon went 7-for-12 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points, while Hill almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. Garfield is 14-2 when Gedeon posts 20 or more points, but 2-4 otherwise. Cade Rock was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

The win made it two in a row for Garfield and bumps their season record up to 16-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.5 points. As for Girard, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
