Soccer Game Preview: Yuma vs. Tempe

The Yuma Criminals will venture away from home to square off against the Tempe Buffaloes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Yuma turned things around against Desert Sunrise on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Golden Hawks a 9-0 shutout. The Criminals' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last eight games.

Meanwhile, Tempe had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Demons as they made off with a 4-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won five games by three goals or more so far this season.

Tempe pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five contests. As for Yuma, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.
