Lakeshore and St. Joseph are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2020, but not for long. The Lancers will challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lakeshore took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 26-7 victory over Kalamazoo Central. The Lancers pushed the score to 26-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Maroon Giants cut but never quite recovered from.

Kaden Griffiths went supernova, rushing for 114 yards and two scores.

Lakeshore didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Drew Scholten.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Gull Lake 46-7. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The victory got St. Joseph back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeshore, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Lakeshore might still be hurting after the 41-21 defeat they got from St. Joseph in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lancers were down 20-0.
