Softball Recap: Markesan Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Hornets on Thursday. Markesan lost 16-6 to Wautoma. If Markesan was looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to Wautoma when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kaylee Heberer was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Karlie Olson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Markesan and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for Wautoma, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

Coming up, Markesan will challenge Manitowoc Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wautoma, they will square off against Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
