Volleyball Recap: Somerset Academy Panthers vs. Mourning Sharks

Somerset Academy and Mourning squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Somerset Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 3-0. The Panthers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Somerset Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Mourning work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-14, 26-24, 25-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mourning to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mila Besharat, who had 26 digs and four assists. Besharat is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Dunham, who had five digs and four aces.

Somerset Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Mourning, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Somerset Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mourning, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against the Panthers on the 14th.
